Republic Day 2026: 30 Total Tableaux

The 77th Republic Day of India is set to be a landmark event, blending a century-old cultural legacy with a futuristic display of military strategy. This year’s parade at Kartavya Path is not just a show of strength, but a tribute to the anthem of the Indian freedom struggle and a symbol of India's growing global partnerships.

A total of 30 tableaux will roll down Kartavya Path, showcasing the diversity and technological progress of the nation.

  • 17 States & Union Territories: Each will present a unique cultural or developmental theme.

    • Highlight: Andhra Pradesh is expected to showcase its "Green Energy Transition," while Tamil Nadu focuses on its status as an "EV Manufacturing Hub".

  • 13 Ministries & Services: These will highlight national missions like Gati Shakti, the Digital India initiative, and the 10th anniversary of Startup India.

A Closer Look at the 17 State & UT Tableaux

Core Themes:
1. Svatantrata Ka Mantr – Vande Maataram (Mantra of Freedom – Vande Mataram)
2. Samrddhi Ka Mantr – Aatmanirbhar Bharat (Mantra of Prosperity – Self-Reliant India)

1. Andhra Pradesh: "Etikoppaka Bommalu"

  • Theme: Eco-Friendly Wooden Toys.

  • Focus: This tableau highlights the 400-year-old tradition of making lacquerware toys in the village of Etikoppaka. It celebrates sustainable craftsmanship and the state's efforts to revive local artisanal industries through GI (Geographical Indication) tagging.

2. Telangana: "Medaram Maha Jatara"

  • Theme: Sammakka-Saralamma Jatara & Tribal Heritage.

  • Focus: Marking the 2026 Medaram festival year, this tableau showcases Asia's largest tribal congregation. It depicts the valor of the mother-daughter duo who fought against unjust taxes, blending tribal spirituality with state cultural identity.

3. West Bengal: "Bengal in India's Freedom Movement"

  • Theme: The Birthplace of Vande Mataram.

  • Focus: Celebrating the 150th anniversary of the National Song, this tableau features Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay and the literary revolution that sparked the call for independence. It also highlights the "Lakshmir Bhandar" scheme as a symbol of women-led self-reliance.

4. Odisha: "Soil to Silicon"

  • Theme: Rooted in Tradition, Rising with Innovation.

  • Focus: A visually stunning contrast between Odisha's ancient temple architecture (the "Soil") and its emerging status as a global hub for semiconductor and IT manufacturing (the "Silicon").

5. Tamil Nadu: "Mantra of Prosperity – EV Hub"

  • Theme: India’s Emerging Electric Vehicle Manufacturing Capital.

  • Focus: Showcasing the state’s industrial transition, this tableau features a futuristic assembly line of electric buses and cars, highlighting Tamil Nadu's contribution to India’s green energy goals.

6. Kerala: "Water Metro & 100% Digital Governance"

  • Theme: Atmanirbhar Kerala for Atmanirbhar Bharat.

  • Focus: Featuring the Kochi Water Metro (the first of its kind in India) and the state's achievement as the first fully digitalized governance state in India.

7. Gujarat: "Swatantrata Ka Mantra – Vande Mataram"

  • Theme: The Revolutionary Spirit.

  • Focus: A tribute to the freedom fighters of Gujarat who adopted Vande Mataram as their war cry. It also integrates modern development icons like the Statue of Unity.

8. Maharashtra: "Ganeshotsav – A Symbol of Atmanirbharta"

  • Focus: Highlighting how Lokmanya Tilak transformed a private religious festival into a massive public event for national unity, now evolving into a global symbol of Maharashtra’s cultural entrepreneurship.

9. Uttar Pradesh: "Culture of Bundelkhand"

  • Theme: Heritage of Valor and the Mahakumbh.

  • Focus: A journey through the forts of Bundelkhand (Jhansi) and a teaser for the 2025-26 Mahakumbh, emphasizing the state as a cradle of spiritual and historical heritage.

10. Madhya Pradesh: "Punyashlok – Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar"

  • Theme: 300th Birth Anniversary of the Queen of Malwa.

  • Focus: Celebrating the administrative wisdom and spiritual restoration works of Devi Ahilyabai Holkar, along with the successful reintroduction of cheetahs in Kuno National Park.

11. Rajasthan: "Camel Hide & Golden Art"

  • Theme: Usta Art & Desert Heritage.

  • Focus: The intricate gold embossing work on camel hide (Usta Art) takes center stage, representing Rajasthan’s unique artistic legacy and desert economy.

12. Punjab: "350th Martyrdom Day of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji"

  • Theme: Sacrifice for Human Rights.

  • Focus: A solemn tribute to the "Hind Di Chadar," Guru Tegh Bahadur, marking his 350th martyrdom anniversary and the state's legacy of bravery.

13. Assam: "Ashirakandi – The Craft Village"

  • Theme: Terracotta and Pith Craft.

  • Focus: Showcasing the rural artisan community of Dhubri district, focusing on the preservation of traditional Assamese terracotta work as a sustainable livelihood.

14. Nagaland: "The Hornbill Festival"

  • Theme: Celebrating Culture, Tourism, and Self-Reliance.

  • Focus: A vibrant display of the "Festival of Festivals," emphasizing how Nagaland has used its tribal heritage to build a global tourism brand.

15. Jammu & Kashmir: "Handicrafts and Folk Dances"

  • Theme: Vibrant J&K.

  • Focus: Featuring the intricate Pashmina weaving and the Rouf dance, symbolizing the return of normalcy and economic growth through traditional arts.

16. Himachal Pradesh: "Dev Bhoomi is equally Veer Bhoomi"

  • Theme: Land of Gods and Warriors.

  • Focus: Highlighting the spiritual landscape of the Himalayas alongside the state’s massive contribution of soldiers to the Indian Armed Forces.

17. Chhattisgarh: "Mantra of Freedom – Vande Mataram"

  • Focus: Illustrating the tribal rebellions against colonial rule and their integration into the national freedom struggle under the banner of Vande Mataram.
