  • Minimum Marks: Must have secured at least 45% aggregate marks in the qualifying Diploma or B.Sc. Degree (40% for candidates belonging to reserved categories).

6. Detailed List of Vacancy

AP ECET is an academic entrance examination for lateral entry lateral admissions and not a job recruitment drive; therefore, direct vacancy numbers do not apply. Ten percent (10%) of the total intake in regular B.Tech/B.Pharmacy courses in respective colleges, plus any unfilled vacant seats from first-year admissions, are allotted for lateral entry through AP ECET.

7. Selection Process/Stages

  1. Computer Based Test (CBT): The primary qualification exam for the respective branch.

  2. Preliminary Key & Objections: Review of official answers and submission of challenges.

  3. Result Declaration: Calculation of final normalized scores and assignment of merit rank.

  4. Web Counselling: Phase-wise process involving document verification, exercising web options for colleges/branches, and final seat allotment based on rank, local area, category, and gender reservations.

8. Exam Pattern

The AP ECET is an objective-type (Multiple Choice Questions) Computer Based Test (CBT).

  • Total Duration: 3 Hours (180 Minutes)

  • Total Marks: 200 Marks (200 Questions; 1 mark per correct answer; No negative marking)

  • Subject Breakdown (For Diploma Holders in Engineering):

    • Mathematics: 50 Marks

    • Physics: 25 Marks

    • Chemistry: 25 Marks

    • Engineering Paper (Civil/Electrical/Mechanical, etc.): 100 Marks

  • Subject Breakdown (For Diploma Holders in Pharmacy):

    • Pharmaceutics: 50 Marks

    • Pharmaceutical Chemistry: 50 Marks

    • Pharmacognosy: 50 Marks

    • Pharmacology: 50 Marks

  • Subject Breakdown (For B.Sc. Mathematics Graduates):

    • Mathematics: 100 Marks

    • Analytical Ability: 50 Marks

9. Previous Year Cut Off Analysis

To successfully obtain a rank in the AP ECET, candidates must pass the qualifying threshold:

  • General / BC Categories: Must secure a minimum of 25% of the aggregate marks (i.e., 50 marks out of a total of 200).

  • SC / ST Categories: There is no minimum qualifying mark prescribed. The ranking is assigned sequentially based on the marks secured in the exam.

  • Note: While 50 is the minimum qualifying mark, securing top seats in prime JNTU constituent colleges typically requires scores above 110-120+.

10. Required Documents

For filling out the Online Application:

  • Diploma/B.Sc Hall Ticket Number (Qualifying Examination)

  • SSC (10th) Certificate (for Name and Date of Birth validation)

  • Aadhaar Card Number

  • Caste/Community Certificate (for SC/ST/BC categories)

  • Income Certificate of Parents (for fee exemption/scholarship)

  • Local Status proofs (Study certificates from 7th class to Diploma)

  • Special Category Certificates (NCC, PH, Sports, CAP) if applicable

11. General Conditions and Instructions

  • B.Sc. (Mathematics) candidates will be considered for admission into Engineering courses only after all the eligible Diploma-holding candidates have been accommodated.

  • B.Sc. candidates are not eligible for lateral entry into Pharmacy courses.

  • The test will be conducted in English.
